On the USB drive there is scanning software and a software to edit your scan with.

You can also buy a turn table for the scanner.

Scanning Software

Pop 3D scanner comes with a very simpel software called Handyscan.

There is not many options is this software but that makes it a good beginner software.

You just install the software and plug your scanner to your computer and it works.

You can choose 3 scan modes all with 2 option in texture “No Colour” or “Colour”

The only settings you can play with is the light gain so that is easy.

The Scanner is compatible with many other software like:

Maya

3 max

Thinkercad

Fusion 360

And many many more…..

First Test Scan

My First test scan was of the the model there is in the pack.

In Scan I did choose “Feature” and “No Colour” and I did use the turn table also.

It did turn out great at the first try, I did use the black cloves so my hand did not show up in the scan.

Why I did use the cloves? It was so I could get the scan of the buttom and the top.

After scan was complete I did push the button ” MESH” and it did close all the holes in the scan.

Then over in the other software there comes with the scanner. There I cut the buttom so is was 100% flat and ready to do a 3D Print of it.

Export as .ply, .Stl or .Obj file.. I did export it as a .stl files loaded it into simplify3D, and i did scale it a bit down,

Here it a photo of the scan model and on the left the model I did print out.

Scan of people

Scan of people is also easy to do, But you can´t as now scan 360 degress head scan more like 180 but you can easly see the face and who it is.

I did not try to print any of these scans out. I had hoped to scan 360 scan of a head.

I’am sure if you do multi scans of a head and use an other software you can merge them together so you have a complete head or body.

Revopoint are also going to release an mobile phone APP at first I think it is only going to come out for andriod system, but I cant wait to try that out so I can get the scanner away from the computer and try some other scans.  You can also buy a mobile phone holder for your scanner along with the turn table.

After Sale Support

Revopoint support is fast to answer I got answers within 24 hours so that is very good support.

They also shipout very fast I got my 3D scanner in 7 days with Fedex.

Revopoint also is very nice and their help and support are in top and help with any problems or tips you may need on your way on 3d scanning.

My final Verdict

Would I buy this scanner with what I know? Yes it is a very good scanner with easy software to use and you can use other softwares for your scan.

The scanner is not the best for very small detailed objects. Also in mind this scanner was send before the release so there may come some updates for the software and scanner. But I love the scanner and Revopoint’s support.
