Time to setup up the cam
Start up to scan the QR code on my Iphone 11 Pro. But a message appear that the app is not available in my area or country. Okay I make 8 apple ID’s in different countries but same message. So I can get the cam up and running.
I write to Creality support and on facebook waiting 4 days and no answer. I wont to make sure that my message are sent so I try so SAME email and write that I want to order 20 printers after 1 hour I get a reply. I reply within 5 min. that I dont want any printers but answer on how to get Creality 3D viewer installed on my IOS device and again no after and that is now 7 days ago.
So what to do for this review to finish… Ahhh I got I buy a new phone (Andirod) for this review and to see the cam in action.
Phone is setup and I scan the code get on a webpage with a file NOT the play shop. I download the file and have to set security that it can install that app. WOOOW it works I got the app. So know it is just to follow the manuel steps.
Now I got live feed from the cam so what can I do… I have connected it to my Sapphire PLUS and start to move bed down and up and that works and live feed is running perfect. Then I move XY axis and also works fine. I move on to next menu I that is heating I enter 200 for the hotend and 60 for the bed and both start to heat so great. I go back to move and push Home and it homes, so while heating I slice 2 gcode files but them on my google drive so I can add the files remotely and start the printer. I go to add files find my google drive add the files but nothing show up on the screen, then I download the files from google drive to my android phone and add files from there but message show sometimes that file already exist. I take the SD card out of the cam. Yes there are some very funny looking files on with very long names. So I try to copy the gcode files on the sd card and then into the cam again. No files show up on the list. I try to look and the sd card and I did see to folders and look inside them one is empty the ohter one is full of files, so every time you power the cam it start to record and I have not found a way to stop that.
Remote control your printer No way I cant start a print and when you start a print on your printer you cant stop it remote, I did try to push home but please DONT do that is stop printing and homes when it is homed the it resume print but does not raise nozzle again so BUM into the print and slightly bed hotend.
Okay so I test on another printer this time Ender 3 pro with skr mini board. That test was short it wont connect to the printer. I move on to my Anycubic Predator it connect so I start and after about 1 min. it disconect I do try a few time but the same. So I stop the testing and connect to the Sapphire PLUS and want to test just video and photo option. Photo option also dont work when I try ” Photo Failed” video I can start but there is no point in start because it is recording from you turn is on. So that was the end no more testing.
After sale support
Creality After sales support = what support????
There is none support or no answer from them about the problem.
Final thoughts
DONT BUY IT!!!
Good design good picture but that is it nothing like they promise.
Missing option to use your PC to upload gcodes for the cam remote.
Missing option to stop the printer if you are away and print fails
This looks like a product from Creality that is not even close to be finished.
Maybe I got a bad Camera but with no answer from after sale support then it is impossible to know.
Would I buy it if they fix all the bugs and get the software on the app stores, update the firmware.
Yes I would but for now it is useless. If you want to use cam and remote now the use octoprint

Like!! I blog quite often and I genuinely thank you for your information. The article has truly peaked my interest.
I think this camera needs some serious attention, while I have a Samsung s9 ,ender3 I can’t even get the app to recognize my login info.i have even bought 2 of them thinking it was the qr code, not so,i will never buy another creality product again.very disappointed.
Good review pretty much the same experience I’ve had with 2 of these devices and Creality don’t want to know what stopped working after a week after 6 days I got a reply contact the seller, they were the seller avoid buy a raspberry pi
How should i buy the product
DONt buy it… only app for andriod it you can find the download from a cloud and install it as 3 parti software.. IOS no chance to get for apple. NO HELP OR SUPPORT FROM CREALITY LIKE ALWAYS THEY DONT ANSWER
Struggled to get it up running, but after watching this tutorial i got it to work.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdmiHp1avW4
For those of you who have bought this and cant get it to work it only works on creality boards and firmware,
IT DONT support marlin or any other boards, is what i have heard, it might work on a few non creality boards
my conclution are, it is ok if you just want to view the print from a distance, but i rather use octoprint and a normal webcam. so if you have a raspbery pi and a webcam use that instead
I have tried to get to work on creality boards, Ender 3 pro, CR-X and CR-10 but it dont works and it do not change the fact that Creality write that it work on IOS and that if taken of both app store and andriod play because of bad software. I was apple to login on that cam with an outside phone before I did the parring the wifi after the wifi was good I still had video on the phone without the other photo was on the wifi net, So I also could look on devices on that wifi without use of any code to the wifi. Creality Have still not sent me 1 answer on any of my mails that is the worst after sale support I ever have had. So I wanted to test if creality did resive mails from me, so I did write a mail that I wanted to buy 20 printers and got an answer within 24 hours, I did reply that I had this problem I no answer again.
But super you got it to work but as you I rather use octoprint or astro with a raspberry
yeah the wise would spend a little ekstra on a raspb. pi an webcam, I havent tried astro but bet it will be better than 3d viewer cam.
the 3d viewer app is horrible programmed. and the guide is shit. and the vid. i added is one of the best tutorial out there.
as you mentioned the creality support really sucks unless you are one of the youtubers with 100k viewers then th.
i had to spam them to get new mainboard an 2 stepper motors just because the had messed with the stepper drivers current on the z and extruder driver.
no quality control on the current settings which is really bad. after a looong time and 100000 email. i finally got replacement.
even when i asked if the stepper driver current was correct this time and they said yes they where not, i measured with a multimeter and the current was way off. so conclution is support, programming and quality control are not the strongest at creality.
But hey all good i got a tshirt from them hehehe.
